Virtual Jewelry that educates users on the inseparable relationship between nature and humans. The collection promotes for pollinators currently in decline and reminds people of ecological intimacy. The sale will be donated to Pollinator Conservation Organization.
The project focuses on the neglected, smaller species that have key functions in the ecosystem. Bringing these pollinators to interact with human in the virtual space reminds people of biodiversity and raise awareness for life coexistence.
Many species are disappearing due to “human-driven” climate changes and decisions. Our relationship with the ecosystem is a challenging topic to address, as an individual it’s hard to bring an answer, but to offer a personal approach that talk about it from a personal angle.
I want to share the experience of encountering the pollinators with more people through virtual 'touch'. By focusing on the micro species that are usually neglected and less educated publicly about their functions in the eco-web, we will better appreciate their beauty of existence.
The virtual jewelry come with educational stories for each insect. It is branding project through 3D modeling, AR, and motion contained in a website.
Since physical jewelry making and 3D printing quality won’t be ideal at the moment, I will show the virtual prototypes as future proposal.
AR interaction brings physical touch closer through digital. It reminds people the experience of encountering them and accidentally having them land on our bodies in reality.
